Another slumber party for Harbaugh?

Watch out Big Ten football in 2024! Yesterday, the University of Michigan made an offer to 13-year-old 7th grade quarterback, Isaiah Marshall. While I know this kid would’ve dominated the 7th grade version of me on the gridiron and probably (most likely) even the current 32-year-old version, it still seems a little ridiculous that kids midway through puberty are being offered roster spots 5 years in advance.

There’s been a handful of 8th graders that have received college football offers the past couple of years including one this past year from the University of Michigan. So maybe this should’ve been expected, and the trend will continue. 6th graders better start stepping up their recess game. And who better to lead this charge and stir up some publicity then Mr. Khakis himself, Jim Harbaugh. This is, the same man that had multiple sleepovers in 2016 with both a kicker and a defensive lineman he was recruiting. At least those recruits at the time were highly ranked seniors in high school. But then again, it was just a kicker and a lineman. And this kid is a quarterback and potentially the future of Wolverines football.  Better to play it safe and lock down the pre-teen blue-chip recruits early. Coach Dantonio better adapt or there won't be any players left for the Spartans to recruit in a few years. He needs gather his top recruiters, gas up the school bus, load up some juice boxes and fruit snacks and start hitting the local children's rec leagues. It won't be weird at all for parents...  I’m already anxiously awaiting a meeting with the Detroit Tigers scouting staff at my son’s t-ball game in a few years.
