Just short of a decade, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been a common pick to win the Superbowl year after year. Not a bad idea, since they had a Hall of Fame quarterback, the best receiver in the NFL (for the past 8 years) and the best running back (for the past 6). They were absolutely loaded with talent in the skill positions and had one of the best offenses to watch on a weekly basis. Despite all the talent, they never even made it to the Superbowl once. If I were a Steelers fan I would be outraged at the under-performance and waste of what seemed like the glory years. The killer B’s (Ben, Bell and Brown), despite putting up huge numbers, were consistently choke artists. My favorite being Tim Tebow’s 80 yard touchdown to knock them out of the playoffs. So what happened? Well, for one, Le’Veon Bell (SpartanDawg) chose to pass up on $800,000 a week and sit out an entire season due to the Steelers not wanting to pay him the money he deserves. Not only that, but they refused to make a deal happen the second half of season because they told him they wouldn’t guarantee they would franchise tag him after the season, which they ended up not doing anyways. Are you serious? You refused to do something that you ended up doing anyways. You could have had Bell for the last six games, but instead you didn’t even make the playoffs, strictly due to ownership pride. Which in turn, caved anyways, and let Bell go... IDIOTS. Luckily, it seems like any running back in a Steelers uniform can do the job as James Connor filled in with a big year himself. That brings us to Antonio Brown who just got traded to the Oakland Raiders. Keep in mind, the Cowboys gave the Raiders a 1st round draft pick for Amari Cooper this year. So one may think Antonio Brown, the NFLs top receiver for the past 8 years, would be worth a 1st and maybe a 3rd round pick? Nope! Not our Steelers! They trade away Brown for a 3rd and 5th rounder. Oh and by the way, instead of paying him the $22 mil, they now incur $21 mil of dead money on the cap. They can’t even go pay a free agent to come. Antonio Brown stuck it to the Steelers like I've never seen before. Yes, he was a hothead and diva on and off the field, but damn, you can’t just let this shit happen if you want to be a successful organization. It will be very interesting if Carr can throw the deep ball like Ben though. I think we will see a decline in his production in Oakland. The last of the Killer B’s is Big Ben. We all know he slings the ball around like the best of them and has one of the best deep balls in the game (helps when you got Brown and JuJu). The knock on him is his lack of leadership and ability to handle Brown’s diva like antics, which is surprising since he likes dating underage girls and they have the same teenage girl emotions as Brown. So now he is left with JuJu and Connor. A decent duo but only a glimpse of the talent he once had. This whole ordeal with the Steelers over the past few years has to go down as one of the biggest disappointments in NFL team history. The Killer B’s will forever be known as one of the most talented trios that amounted to absolutely zero meaningful victories for the city of Pittsburgh.
